DEVELOP
Students first develop strong academic foundations by being introduced to material at the expected level of learning. Once this understanding is established, they are gradually challenged with more advanced concepts to extend their thinking and build confidence.
With the support of structured guidance and clear explanations, students learn to approach challenging material with confidence and curiosity. They are encouraged to view mistakes as part of the learning process and to recognise that growth happens when they move beyond their comfort zone.
Through this approach, students build both academic ability and a strong growth mindset, helping them become resilient, independent learners.
LEARN
Students learn the correct terminology, methods and problem-solving strategies needed to approach both English and Maths with confidence.
Our teaching approach, developed through more than 20 years of educational experience, focuses on clear explanations, structured learning and consistent practice. This helps students understand concepts properly rather than simply memorising procedures.
With a strong understanding of the national curriculum and exam expectations, we guide students step by step through increasingly challenging material. As a result, they develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed academically.
GROW
As students strengthen their academic skills and confidence, they begin to grow into independent and capable learners.
At DLG Academy, growth goes beyond academic performance. We aim to help students develop resilience, curiosity and a positive attitude towards learning. By encouraging students to challenge themselves, reflect on their progress and take responsibility for their learning, they build habits that support long-term success.
Through this approach, students gain not only stronger subject knowledge, but also the confidence and mindset needed to navigate future academic challenges.
About the Founder
Sisi Tatsi is the founder of DLG Academy and an experienced educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience across both primary and secondary education.
During her career in education, she has held Head of Department positions across several schools, including seven primary schools and five secondary schools. This experience has given her a broad understanding of how children learn at different stages of their academic development and how teaching approaches can be adapted to support each learner effectively.
Sisi holds a degree in English Literature, a postgraduate degree in Business and has also studied Children’s Psychology, an area that has strongly influenced her teaching approach. In 2022, she gained accreditation in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health, strengthening her ability to support students not only academically but also in building confidence, resilience and positive wellbeing.
Through her experience in education, Sisi recognised that many children benefit from clearer explanations, structured practice and more personalised support than traditional classroom settings can always provide. This insight led her to begin developing her own learning materials and teaching methods.
In 2021, she founded DLG Academy, where she combines her experience in education, curriculum design and child development to support students in building strong academic foundations, confidence and a positive growth mindset.
In addition to her teaching work, Sisi is also the author of several educational books and the creator of classroom courses, online self-study courses and mock examination papers designed to support children preparing for Key Stage 2, SATs and the 11+.
Her work focuses not only on improving academic performance, but also on helping students become confident, independent learners with a positive and resilient approach to learning, reflecting the core philosophy of Develop • Learn • Grow that underpins the work of DLG Academy.
